The Durrington Festival Carnival
The ‘Nations of the World’ themed Carnival Procession left Yeoman Way at 1.30pm and processed to Pond Lane Park, via Yeoman Road, Romany Road and New Road, and promised to be one of the biggest and best processions ever!
It was led by the Worthing Panthers Cheerleaders group, and also featured Celebration Samba and a Brazilian band. Riding in the procession was the 2010 Durrington Festival Carnival Princesses. Also taking part in the procession was the Major of Worthing, Councillor Ann Sayers along with the Youth Mayor Matthew Badcock.
Before moving off the entrants were judged and certificates for the best entrants were presented when the procession arrived at the Village Fayre at at 2.15pm, at which point the Mayor of Worthing also formally opened the Village Fayre.
